Abby’s Updates

Yay! I get to share my bum with you again. So much has happened in the last half year. I wish I’d been blogging about it the whole time, but instead let’s do a quick summary so we can all move on and talk about spanking and spanking related things.

FIRST SPANKING PARTY - Spencer and I went to our first local spanking party in June! This deserves its own post, so let’s see if I can manage to write about it soon.

HOUSE FINALLY REPAIRED - We had a house flood in July of 2022, and it took over 9 months for the repairs to be completed. During that time, we had limited access to the LRS workshop, our books, and even space for spanking. It felt like life was on pause during that time.

RE-OPENED LITTLE RED SPANKING - Once we got the space in our house back, Spencer was able to go back to making paddles full time. We’re back in action and coming out swinging!

OPENED LRS BOOKS - You’re going to see a lot more about this! We opened another Etsy shop, this one for vintage erotica specializing in spanking and flagellation works from the 1800’s to the 1990’s. The shop is small right now but I have a closet of books to add. Check it out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LRSBooks.

CLOSED TWO VANILLA COMPANIES - From 2016 to the beginning of 2023, I worked at a mortgage broker. Mortgages took a terrible dive in the US in 2022 and after a series of layoffs, we officially closed in January 2023. The owner kept five of us and started a solar company. As of last week, that company did  not survive either. I’m looking for new vanilla work!

So that’s the quick rundown. My plan is that while I am looking for new work, I will also be spending more time in the spanking universe. I officially have more time to tell the world about our paddles and books and hopefully share pictures of my spanked bottom, as that remains one of my favorite things to do on the internet. Here we go again!

Tarot Tarts #1: Serpieri Tarot

All artwork pictured in this post is from The Serpieri Tarot, copyright Lo Scarabeo

Happy New Year! December was a far more challenging month than anticipated. I meant to start blogging here again and I just wasn’t able to make it happen.

I’m excited to be starting the new year with a post featuring some of my favorite cards from my new Serpieri Tarot deck, published by Lo Scarabeo earlier this year. I have a growing collection of tarot and divination decks, some for personal use and some for the art. A small but growing number of these fall into the erotic category, and my Serpieri deck is no exception.

This deck features artwork by and inspired by Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, a graphic artist whose work often prominently displays the female bottom in glorious rounded and muscled form. I have long been a fan of his work and his erotic science fiction graphic novel series featuring the beloved buxom heroine Druuna, who appears throughout the deck as well.

In my exploration of the deck, I found that many of the cards are in keeping with the Rider-Waite imagery that is most commonly used throughout the tarot world. Decks built from a pre-existing source often include artwork that is not in keeping with traditional imagery or card meaning, so when I found that the images and card meanings were in alignment, I realized that the artwork had been designed specifically for the deck. This is supported in the small manual included with the deck, in which Italian tarot deck publisher Lo Scarabeo explains, “In our interpretation, we took a step away from the original lore of the comics, and imbued the artwork with their own, standalone meanings - ones that fit with the Tarot cards they represent.”

Here are some of my favorite cards from this deck. Picking my favorites was fun and sexy, so I’ll aim to do this with my other erotic decks as well!

Shopping Tip: The tarot world is experiencing a huge increase in forgeries and fakes. Only purchase decks from reputable sources. This deck is available from Llewellyn.com. (I am in no way affiliated, I just love collecting tarot decks and Llewellyn has been a great source for decks and books for as long as I can remember.)
